Artist Open Call - Color Burst
UPDATE: This theme has been changed to Color Burst, previously Printmaking. All artists that have applied for Printmaking have been notified.
With the theme, COLORBURST, artists have the opportunity to play with color in intriguing ways. Using any medium or subject matter, let color tell the story or provide the emotion. Both realism and abstract art will be considered. Our gallery features contemporary art and the concept is considered in judging.
Overt Space Gallery + Gift is a vibrant and creative space for artists and makers, split between gallery and gift shop. Perfect for emerging and mid-career artists seeking places to share their work in a gallery setting.

Entry Fee: NO FEE
All accepted artwork will be featured in our gallery. This exhibition does not have cash awards.
Location: All artists residing in the USA are eligible to participate. This group show is located at Overt Space Gallery in Stoughton, WI. Artwork will need to be shipped to the gallery before the exhibition. Artwork will also be available on our website. Artists do not need to be present for the show.
Artwork Requirements: Artwork must be ready to hang and must not exceed 60” in either direction and must not stick out from the wall 6”. Artwork must be for sale.
The commission split is 60% artist/40% gallery.
All original works will be considered; All 2D artwork and 3D wall hangable artwork. Our gallery uses the STAS Hanging system and cannot be nailed to the wall. Some sculptures will be accepted.
Overt Space is family-friendly and has people of all ages walk through the gallery. Please keep this in mind when submitting artwork.
Shipping Artwork: Artists are responsible for shipping artwork to the gallery and must provide a prepaid return shipping label addressed to themselves from the gallery.
Application Requirements
- Up to 2 pieces may be submitted on each application, one image per piece.
- If you would like to submit more than 2 pieces there is a $5 per additional artwork.
- Images must be of the actual work to be exhibited.
- Artwork must be original (not copied from other art or made from a kit).
- Work must have been completed in the last three years.
- Piece(s) must not have been shown previously at Overt Space Gallery.
- All pieces must be for sale.
- Artists Statement - All applicants must submit an artist statement limited to 1000 characters.
Liability: Artists are responsible for insuring their artwork while in transit to and from the gallery and for the duration of the exhibition. All accepted artwork will be handled with professional care; however, Overt Space Gallery will not be responsible for any loss or damage to artwork while in transit to and from the gallery and while on the premises.
Damaged boxes and crates will remain unopened pending notification to the artist.
Work unclaimed by the sender at the return address on the crate is not the responsibility of Overt Space Gallery.
