Artist Statement:

My artwork is influenced by deep looking and feeling. Trusting my knowledge and years of figurative drawing and informed by creating fiber arts. This particular drawing is layering vibrant color in a patchwork of textures. Here imagination and observation intermingle, influenced by the tactile experience of working with fiber and deep knowing of the body. The natural world is a sensory body. Look at the land, sky, flesh, feathers, branches, wings, water, pockets of light, patches of moss, grasses, reeds, movement and light. I hope you slow down; expand just a bit while looking and make room for wonder.
