Artist Statement:
GMO Landscapes. Using highly saturated, synthetic colors in this set of abstracted landscapes, I have attempted to represent what we are doing to our planet. Why are we drawn to the bright green of Mountain Dew, or the unnatural color of Cheetos? So much of what we consume is unnatural. It is also becoming increasingly difficult to find an unaltered, unmodified area of land that has not been compromised by mankind. We are, in fact, becoming genetically modified ourselves. What has not been genetically modified?
