Artist Statement:
As a fourth generation woodcarver my training has been in the ornamental. I have developed my own type of low relief carvings which tell dream like stories. Using my ornamental background as a base but allowing the wood to grow with the composition. The wood chosen can be for contrasts or as a symbolic dynamic. I carve with chisels and mallets, and am known to add accents such as gold or silver leaf and color.
