Artist Statement: 

In my paintings, landscape functions not just as subject matter, but as a framework for merging observation, memory, and abstraction. I seek to engage the viewer with the subtleties of texture, structure, color and space—crafting works that evoke both reflection and connection. 

I am interested in the way we as individuals and as a society identify with and define notions of landscape. I consider myself part of a movement in contemporary art called “para-pastoral,” which involves a reframing of the landscape away from purely idyllic views toward considerations of climate change, ecological, social and economic imperatives. Through layered imagery and rhythmic compositions, I invite the viewer into a deeper, meditative encounter with the natural world.

This practice bridges personal narrative and universal themes, aiming to offer both depth and discovery in each piece.
