"Ornithologically Correct" birdpants.
These are mounted in a handmade poplar 7x7" stained black shadowbox frame using t-pins. Accurately sized for the bird shown, these are highly detailed, hand-pieced, painted, embellished, and accurately depict the colors of the bird in nature.
They are intended to emulate a mounted butterfly or exotic insect - the combination of seriousness (scientific accuracy, mounted metal bookplate with latin name, background lined with natural linen) and humor (birdpants!) makes these especially fun to display. The frame has picture wire for hanging.
Even birds need pants!!
