Artist Statement: 

This vibrant painting of a Salt River Wild Horse is a striking fusion of nature, symbolism and spirit.  The horse's form is not fully separate from its surroundings; it emerges from the land and river as though it is born of both.  This painting embodies the story of resilience, belonging and identity.  The painting speaks to their natural belonging-and the ongoing fight to keep them wild and free in the only home they've ever known.

Nature is a strong influence on Kristina’s art. She loves the beauty, texture, shape, and color we can find that is prevalent in the world around us.   Kristina enjoys using a wide variety of media to create layers and textures of interest.  She builds from thinner mediums such as inks and spray paint and builds up to thicker and textured areas by incorporating gel medium and acrylic paints and finishes with oil paint.

When viewing her art, she hopes it sparks a feeling that brings you joy and an appreciation for all the abundant beauty we see in life.
